Biographical Sketch

 

Beginnings

Edwrin V.B. Sutton was born and raised in Columbus County, North Carolina.

Attended schools in the Columbus County School System.

 

Spiritual Heritage

As a child, he

Was a member of The Welches Creek Baptist Church , Whiteville, NC 

At the age of 9 was a member of The Christian Plain AME Zion Church, Clarkton, NC

Served as The Cape Fear Annual Conference of The AME Zion Church VCYC President.

At the age of 18 joined the Warner Temple AME Zion Church, Wilmington, NC where he served as Assistant Preacher, Assistant Bible Study Teacher, Musician and Assistant Choir Director. 

Served the local church as musician, Sunday school teacher, and youth president.

Preached his trial sermon on December 4th 2005.

Was ordained a Deacon in 2015 by the laying on of hands of Bishop Dennis V. Proctor.

Was ordained an Elder in 2016 by the laying on of hands of Bishop Dennis V. Proctor.

Community

In 2017 he became an Adjunct Professor at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Serves on the Board of Directors of Kingdom Professionals which is founded and led by Bishop Michael A. Blue.

Served on the Tubman Terrace Housing Board.

Served on the SNUG Steering Committee.

Served on the Suicide Prevention Task Force.

Principle For A Day Poughkeepsie School District.

Marriage, Family, and Pastorate

Raised by Rev. Dr. Valentine Sutton and Edward Sutton Sr.

On March 25, 2013 was joined in holy matrimony to the former Nakia Graves of Chapel Hill, NC.

In October, 2014 he was appointed to serve in a pastoral capacity at Refuge Temple AME Zion Church, Montgomery, Alabama.

In October, 2015 he was appointed as Pastor of Wall Street AME Zion Church, Tallassee, Alabama

In June of 2016, he was appointed as Pastor of Smith Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Poughkeepsie, New York.

Each church he has pastored has at least doubled in attendance.

Currently serves as Pastor of Caldwell Temple AME Zion Church, Bronx, New York.

 

Music / Media Ministry

Charted #1 for consecutive weeks on Gospel Billboard Charts with the album Gospel Mix X

Has sung with many notable National recording artists.

Has a show on the Stellar Award Nominated Xcel Radio Station that is aired weekly entitled "Monday Manna".

Has been a featured guest on Christian Television's The Word Network and Impact Network on numerous occasions.

Founder of the up and coming Gospel Music Group, "Edwrin Sutton & Kingdom Culture"

He is signed to BlackSmoke Music Worldwide who are responsible for the careers of artists such as James Fortune, Earnest Pugh, Zacardi Cortez and others.
